Holy Smoke Photography is an exploration of how to most honestly and creatively capture portraits. It’s also an obsession with light, a love of movement, and an excitement for human idiosyncrasies. Run by Alissa Lise Wyle, 24 year old based in North Hollywood, Holy Smoke is a full time freelance business that offers curated portraiture, editorials, promotional photo/video work, music videos, set design, creative direction, and more. Holy Smoke was based in Boston for 2 and a half years and traveled to shoot in cities including NYC, Santa Cruz, Valencia, Zürich and more. Through thoughtful creative direction, Alissa puts focus on communication and movement, taking very seriously the vulnerability needed for honest portraiture.
Learning to adapt during this year has been a whirlwind. From motion to stillness back to motion. I am grateful for the people who joined me in pushing the limits of long distance creating. For some of my quarantine work, see virtual shoots.
Holy Smoke Photography has been featured in publications such as Boston Magazine, and has shot covers for Affinity Magazine, & JazzEd Magazine.
